Terms of Service

These terms are intended to keep Songary simple and fair: use it for your personal music practice, respect other people’s work, and keep control of your own library.

Last updated September 8, 2026

1. Accepting these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Songary or this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Songary on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. What Songary provides

Songary is a personal organization and reading tool for song information, chords, lyrics, notes, and related references. Features may include an in-app browser, local saving, editing, search, transposition, text sizing, auto-scroll, and artwork matching.

Songary is currently provided free of charge. Optional paid features may be introduced in the future, but their price and terms will be shown before purchase.

3. Your content and responsibility

You retain any rights you have in content you create or enter. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the permission or other lawful basis needed to save, edit, use, or share any material through Songary.

Songary does not grant you rights to content belonging to artists, songwriters, publishers, websites, or other third parties. You must comply with applicable laws and the terms of any third-party source you choose to visit.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use Songary to infringe intellectual-property rights, break the law, interfere with the app or website, bypass access restrictions, distribute malicious code, abuse network services, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or information.

The in-app browser is provided for user-directed browsing. You must not use Songary as a tool for automated bulk collection or unauthorized redistribution.

5. Third-party services

Songary can open third-party websites and may request music metadata or artwork from third-party services. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, content, security, or practices. Their own terms and policies apply.

6. Availability and changes

We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to keep Songary fast and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every page can be interpreted or saved correctly. You are responsible for maintaining any backups you consider important.

7. Intellectual property

The Songary name, branding, interface, website, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of Songary or third-party material.

8. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, Songary is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Songary and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from use of the service. Liability that cannot legally be limited remains unaffected.

10. Ending use

You may stop using Songary at any time. We may restrict access to hosted services if someone materially violates these terms or if needed to protect users, rights holders, or the service. Locally stored data remains under your control unless you delete it or the app.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Songary evolves. Material changes will be presented with a new effective date and, when appropriate, additional notice.

Questions about these terms can be sent to legal@songary.app.
